01-08-2020, 02:01 PM. so it seems i have a boost problem. the second the temp needle moves off the zero mark i lose all boost. changed the pipe and solenoid and had no effect. so i take it to vauxhall to get it plugged and and checked. they have found the problem seems its the EGR cooler housing. there is vacuum going in but nothing coming out. The EGR valves on the 1.9 CDTI have been known to clog up with soot which can lead to their failure. A new EGR will cost you around £100 when it fails, so a little clean every now and then won’t do any harm. Remove the engine plastic cover. Locate the EGR Valve. There is an electrical connector on the left hand side of the valve. sH81Th.
